Ecological aspects and beauty on the rise
In all of today's upcoming trends two central themes are present: ecological aspects and beauty. Various strands such as phenomena related to personal well-being revolve round these two central themes. Moreover, an increasing number of humorous themes trail in the wake of the long-standing minimalist trend, setting a counterpoint to it. The so-called "granny" trend introduces a breezily ironic take on decor in place of the stringently purist decorator's.
Well-being and ecological aspects signify a sensible approach and bring pure materials to interior decoration. The orthodox decorator uses a reasonable approach without unnecessary fuss while utilising technology. The trend of well-being co-existent with sensibility emphasizes good feelings and is manifested in the home as choices that bring peace and harmony to everyday life. The "granny" trend lends lace cloths and porcelain animals to the top of any trend.
After lime and turquoise, there is currently much talk about orange on the subject of colours. It has to be remembered, though, that forecasting and determining trend colours may be nothing more than a stab in the dark, since colours are always connected with materials. And when it comes to selecting a material, the purpose of use is the deciding factor. Interior decoration will thus draw on basic colours for now, but with accents of orange hues here and there.
One of the strong underlying themes is ethnicity - it is said than design alone will not suffice anymore. There is currently a general tendency to seek for deeper meanings for all products and solutions. This deeper meaning could be sustainable development, fair trade or anything that feels important. The type of trend that provides no added value except shallow trendiness is making way for something else.
And remember - the best accentuating effect is your own personality.
