Trends and Fashion

Fashion is powered by trends

For many people, trends and fashion are still synonymous. However, fashion is multi-faceted--not concerned only with clothing or the colours of the season. Ecological practices, elegance and good manners are always in fashion - trends, on the other hand, are currents mirroring the zeitgeist, with side streams and still water pools.

Where trends originate is down to a game of chance. For instance, Italy is regarded as the birthplace of fashion, but in historical terms the country's status as a fashion pioneer is simply based on the fact that Italy has always manufactured great amounts of fabric and thread. In fact, in a similar manner to the Egyptians, its pioneering status is based on technology and skill.

In fashion, trends are most prominently manifested in changing colour palettes and design languages. The visible elements of fashion, however, arise from longer-term developments that reflect more extensive trends. In addition to its visual aspects, fashion and trends are manifested in soundscapes and ethnic currents.

Whether we want it or not, trends and fashions not only influence our wardrobe and interior decoration but our personally held values as well. And through these they influence, in one way or another, all our consumer desires and habits.
