To create a refreshingly airy living space, nothing can beat the light, refined tones of birch parquet.
The timber of birch is very light, usually fine textured. Strong grain patterns seldom appear. Knots are clearly visible on the white timber surface. It turns slightly yellowish over time and is a rather soft material.
Species (Betula pendula) distribution is the whole of Europe, especially Scandinavia and Finland. A typical characteristic is the bright white and straight trunk and during the summertime dense, dark green boughs. The species grows to a height of 18 - 21 m and the diameter of the trunk can be up to 100 cm.
The density of birch varies between 460-800 kg/m³ and hardness is fairly low: Brinell-hardness 2.2 - 2.7.
Birch is available in the Upofloor Collections Ambient and Tempo.
